-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The victory of both mentor and disciple are ultimately decided
by the struggles and efforts that the disciple undertakes.*
Let us sincerely follow and manifest the teachings of our mentor,
making them a spontaneous part of our daily existence!
Victory is an instantaneous consequence of our efforts to put into practice
what we have learned!

* Gosho, Flowering and Bearing Grain, WND-1, 909, "It is said that, if a
teacher has a good disciple, both will gain the fruit of Buddhahood, but if
a teacher fosters a bad disciple, both will fall into hell. If teacher and
disciple are of different minds, they will never accomplish anything."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"All of you, who are striving with pride and commitment for the sake of
kosen-rufu together with your fellow members across the globe, are
accumulating incredible good fortune and benefit and adorning your lives
with lofty splendour. Our prayers as SGI members are not merely for
ourselves; they are directly connected to the Buddha's intent and decree to
achieve worldwide kosen-rufu. That is why we shine with Buddha wisdom and
why our lives brim with the Buddha's vitality and power. It is also why the
heavenly deities and the Buddhas and bodhisattvas throughout time and space
are certain to protect us."
