-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The Daishonin encourages us,
"My wish is that all my disciples make a great vow."*
Our goal is to achieve the absolute ultimate in whatever we are challenging.
Aim high and dream big--this is an essential ingredient of creating a truly wonderful life.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"More valuable than treasures in a storehouse are the treasures of the body, and the treasures of the heart are the most valuable of all. From the time you read this letter on, strive to accumulate the treasures of the heart!"

(The Three Kinds of Treasure - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 851)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The renowned English poet William Wordsworth (1770-1850) wrote: 'We from today, my Friend, will date / The opening of the year.' Whatever the time or circumstance, everything starts anew from the day we decide to stand up with a fresh determination in our heart.

"As practitioners of the Daishonin's Buddhism--the Buddhism of true cause that stresses the importance of moving forwards from the present moment on--each new day is the eternal starting point of time without beginning. As people who have inherited the vow for kosen-rufu from the Soka Gakkai's first and second presidents Tsunesaburo Makiguchi and Josei Toda, each day for us is a solemn anniversary of the founding of our movement."

SGI Newsletter No. 7898, REGION LEADERS CONFERENCE--PART 1 [OF 3], Growth Begins with Human Revolution, from the Oct. 5th, 2009, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translated Dec. 22nd, 2009
