---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The Daishonin discusses 'being loyal to one's lord' (WND-2, 636). We can interpret this as the Daishonin teaching Tokimitsu the attitude needed to win trust in one's community and society. He stresses the importance of behaving with integrity and trustworthiness in serving one's lord. Whether our efforts are appreciated or not, the unseen virtue we accumulate will eventually shine as visible reward.

"Young people may sometimes feel that their efforts for their employer are unrecognised and unrewarded. But if you keep learning, improving, and doing your best, based on faith in the Mystic Law, you will achieve positive results and gain broader trust. If you advance sincerely based on faith, you'll accumulate good fortune and treasures of the heart. The treasures of the body—your health, abilities, and so on—will also shine brightly. Sincerity and trust are the true treasures of youth.

"In 'The Object of Devotion for Observing the Mind,' Nichiren Daishonin writes: 'When the skies are clear, the ground is illuminated. Similarly, when one knows the Lotus Sutra [the Mystic Law], one understands the meaning of all worldly affairs' (WND-1, 376).

"We manifest our faith in daily life, and put Buddhism into action in society. We need to focus on how we can win where we are right now. Practising the Daishonin's Buddhism enables us to bring forth within our lives the sun of boundless wisdom for clearly perceiving the true aspect of reality."
