-- TO MY FRIENDS --
One of the most important tasks of a leader
is to be constantly on the alert, looking out for members
who are quietly and earnestly devoting their time and energy
behind the scenes to kosen-rufu.
Let's be absolutely sure to let them know
just how much we really do appreciate their efforts
and to praise them with words that really do come from the heart!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Now, no matter what, strive in faith and be known as a votary of the Lotus Sutra, and remain my disciple for the rest of your life."

-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
Three cheers on the anniversary of the publication of the Seikyo Newspaper!*
To all of the deliverers of the Seikyo Newspaper
and all our other SGI publications
and the local reporters, our uncrowned heroes and heroines,
thank you all so very much, from the bottom of our hearts,
for your constant hard work and selfless dedication.
Today, again, let's strive to realize President Toda's dream
of having people throughout the world read our organizational newspaper.

*Seikyo Shimbun newspaper was first issued on April 20th, 1951.
**"Newspapers are supposed to be mirrors of society, but the average paper reports only on accidents and tragedies. I am well aware that the world is an unhappy place, but these papers do not suggest at all how to make it any happier.

"The Seikyo Shimbun, however, does write about how one can become happy. It also carries articles about how to view social phenomena from the perspective of Buddhism. There is no other newspaper like it. I, for one, would like to let people throughout Japan and, indeed, throughout the entire world, to read our paper. For this in itself would enable them to form a connection with Buddhism. In other words, it would be a form of propagation." (The Human Revolution, Vol. 11, "Osaka" chapter)
