-- TO MY FRIENDS --
A person of courage is bright.
A person of belief is cheerful.
Come, today, too,
let's make a fresh new departure
by chanting daimoku with the great vow to achieve kosen-rufu!
Let's live each and every day breathing inspiration and vitality
into our environment.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"If one gives food to others, one will improve one's own lot, just as,
for example, if one lights a fire for others, one will brighten one's
own way."
(On the Three Virtues of Food - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin,
Volume 2, page 1060)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai's widow, Madame Deng's activities in China's revolution were a wonderful success. Why? There were three special characteristics that marked them.
"First, speed of action.
"She would immediately contact relevant individuals or go anywhere if it was necessary, no matter how far away it was. This is just like our women's division members.
"Second, meeting face-to-face.
"Letters, messages, phone calls and other modern methods of communication alone do not fully allow us to convey our true intent, nor do they allow us to grasp the other party's true feelings. As much as possible Deng Yingchao tried to go to see the person or people involved, or had them come to see her, making every effort to talk face-to-face. She insisted that it is important to communicate and understand each other's sentiments.
"Third, always paying due respect to others.
"She personally tried to keep her appearances in the public limelight to the absolute minimum, and devoted herself wholeheartedly to working behind the scenes.
"In this way, she gained everyone's trust."
SGI Newsletter No. 9018, Speech Excerpts, translation released 17th, June, 2014 from the SGI Newsletter No. 3947 with slight revisions.
