-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
Hardships are the greatest opportunity for fulfilment.
Patience and perseverance are what lead to a glorious victory.
To all of our dear youth,
never give up, never be defeated!
May you all freely perform your own dramas
of friendship and inspiration.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Regard your service to your lord as the practice of the Lotus Sutra.
This is what is meant by 'No worldly affairs of life or work are ever
contrary to the true reality.'"
(Reply to a Believer - Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 905)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda often used to say: Those who
always have appreciation for the Gohonzon enjoy ever-increasing
prosperity and good fortune. Those who lose their sense of gratitude
will extinguish their own good fortune. A spirit of appreciation that
recognises the protection we receive because of our faith in the
Gohonzon gives rise to joy, courage, and hope.

Gratitude also enriches our heart. On the other hand, if we are always
dissatisfied and disgruntled, we will impoverish our own heart. By
taking part in day-to-day Gakkai activities with a spirit of gratitude
to the Gohonzon, we can transform our life state.

Offerings are a means of repaying our gratitude to the Gohonzon and the
Buddha. Traditionally in Buddhism, there are two kinds of offerings.
They are (1) offering of goods such as food, clothing, and other
material goods and (2) offerings of the Lawsuch as paying reverence to
the Buddha, praising, and honouring him. Spreading Buddhism and
encouraging our fellow members fall into the category of offerings of
the Law.

When we participate in Soka Gakkai activities and joyfully make such
offerings of the Law, though it may not be immediately apparent, we will
gradually be accumulating good fortune, which eventually will manifest
as great benefit. This is called inconspicuous benefit. Through this, we
can build an unshakable foundation for our life and realise a state of
absolute happiness.
