Each and every one of you should be certain deep in your heart that
sacrificing your life for the Lotus Sutra is like exchanging rocks for
gold or dung for rice.

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Faith is a lifelong endeavour. It requires immense effort and
perseverance to surmount one summit of kosen-rufu after another. When
you reach the top of one peak, you discover an even higher peak is
awaiting you. However, the path of kosen-rufu lies in rousing our faith
and surmounting each one, which will eventually take us to the ultimate
goal of attaining Buddhahood in this lifetime.
"There are bound to be times when your situation seems so tough that you
wonder why you have to work so hard. But at such times, please bring
forth courage and advance one step after another, using such struggles
as opportunities to overcome your personal problems and transform your
karma. The important thing is to demonstrate actual proof of benefit in
faith through each challenge.
"As we rouse even stronger faith, we can courageously face the most
treacherous path with resilience and optimism.
"Those who continue to practise this Buddhism to the end of their lives
are people who have grasped the true essence of faith."
