-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Come, let's make fresh new departures each morning!
Let's use our voices to achieve something!
Let's take the type of action that causes something to happen!
It's by taking such proactive steps
that we initiate a transformation towards change.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"(My wish is that all my disciples make a great vow. We are very fortunate to be alive after the widespread epidemics that occurred last year and the year before.
"But now with the impending Mongol invasion it appears that few will survive. In the end, no one can escape death. The sufferings at that time will be exactly like what we are experiencing now. Since death is the same in either case, you should be willing to offer your life for the Lotus Sutra.) Think of this offering as a drop of dew rejoining the ocean, or a speck of dust returning to the earth."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"As we sing a paean to the victory of the people, let us, the members of the Soka family that today spans the entire world, send forth, like the morning sun, the light of a truly universal religion.
"In order to do that, we of the SGI first need to shine with the light of courage.
"In the Lotus Sutra, describing his state of mind as he preaches the unsurpassed teaching, Shakyamuni says: 'Now I [am] joyful and fearless' (cf. LSOC2, 79). Referring to this passage, the Daishonin declares that until he established his teaching at the age of 32, he feared he might not be able to propagate the Mystic Law. But when the right time came, he continues, he had 'no fear while propagating the seven characters of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo throughout the land of Japan,' and had gained the conviction, 'It is certain that the widespread propagation of the Law [kosen-rufu] will eventually be achieved throughout the entire world' (GZ, 816)."[1]
