-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The key to helping people become capable responsible people
is to support and praise them in their efforts
and help them to cultivate their strengths.
It's important to get to know our fellow members well
and to wholeheartedly encourage them in a way
that will penetrate and move their hearts!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Suffer what there is to suffer, enjoy what there is to enjoy. Regard both suffering and joy as facts of life, and continue chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, no matter what happens. How could this be anything other than the boundless joy of the Law? Strengthen your power of faith more than ever."

Vol. 1, page 681)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"For many years in South Africa, where Mr. Mandela grew up, there was an unjust law that said white people were superior to black people. Mr. Mandela stood up as a youthful leader to change his country into a 'rainbow nation' where all people are treasured equally and could live with dreams and goals.

"For this, he was mistreated repeatedly and had his freedom taken away. But he was not defeated under any circumstances. He eventually won his freedom back, became the first black president of South Africa, and realised his dream.

"Most people thought it would be impossible or incredibly difficult to eliminate the racial discrimination that had existed in South Africa for decades. But Mandela had determined in his heart that it could definitely be done.

"People who refuse to give up have hope. And because they have hope, they are able to continue making efforts. Such individuals spread hope to those around them."

SGI Newsletter No. 9300, Rainbow of Hope—Great Figures of the World, [11] Nelson Mandela, Former South African President: Turning Suffering into Hope, from 1st Feb., 2015, issue of Boys and Girls Hope News, translation released 28th Sep. 2015
