-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Our conversation with others,
with a genuine and honest desire for their happiness,
changes not only their lives but also our own.
By acting with sincerity and integrity
expressed through our care and concern,
let's make every effort, each and everyday,
to develop a heart-to-heart bond with one person, then another!

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Value each person, and work together to open the 'palace of happiness' within your lives.

"All human beings are born with the inherent wisdom and power to attain happiness. Our faith in the Mystic Law is the wellspring from which we can tap that wisdom and power.

"In a letter addressed to Nichinyo, the Daishonin writes:

"'Never seek this Gohonzon outside yourself. The Gohonzon exists only within the mortal flesh of us ordinary people who embrace the Lotus Sutra and chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. The body is the palace of the ninth consciousness, the unchanging reality that reigns over all of life's functions.' (WND-1, 832)

"Tsunesaburo Makiguchi, the founder of our Soka movement, underlined this passage in his personal copy of the Daishonin's writings.

"Here, the Daishonin clearly states that the ultimate 'palace of happiness' for which all humanity has been searching is to be found nowhere else but within each person's own life."

SGI Newsletter No. 9322, Second SGI Women's Peace Conference, The "Palace of Happiness" Resides within Our Own Lives, from 22nd Nov., 2015, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translation released 25th Nov. 2015.
