"Both Mr. Makiguchi and Mr. Toda took these words of Nichiren Daishonin deeply to heart: 'None of you who declare yourselves to be my disciples should ever give way to cowardice' (WND-1, 764). This courage is the essence of the mentor-disciple spirit in the Soka Gakkai.
"Please join me in striving bravely and vigorously for the fulfilment of the great vow for worldwide kosen-rufu—burning with the heart of a lion king and shining with the world's most beautiful unity in diversity."
