-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
Season's greetings
are gifts of hopeful words.
Let's treasure those precious
warm heart to heart interactions we have
with our friends and relatives.
The Kosen-rufu movement is all about expanding
the ties people have with Buddhism.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Suffer what there is to suffer, enjoy what there is to enjoy. Regard both suffering and joy as facts of life, and continue chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, no matter what happens."

(Happiness in This World
- WND, Vol. I, page 681)
Selection source: SGI President Ikeda's message,
Seikyo Shimbun, December 19th, 2016.

Tuesday, December 20th, 2016
---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"'The bad luck of your thirty-third year [an age thought to be unlucky for women] will turn into the happiness of your thirty-third year. That is what is meant by the passage, "The seven disasters will instantly vanish, and the seven blessings will instantly appear."[1] You will grow younger, and your good fortune will accumulate.'
- From "The Unity of Husband and Wife" (WND-1, 464).

"Nichiren Buddhism enables us to transform even times that portend misfortune into times that are rich with good fortune and happiness.

"As practitioners of the Mystic Law, which has the power to revitalise our lives, we can grow younger and more vibrant in spirit with each passing year.

"Let's make the sun of time without beginning—the sun of our innate Buddhahood—rise in our hearts again today through chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, and move forwards with fresh energy and vitality. Let's enact an inspiring drama of lifelong youthfulness by advancing with a youthful spirit, together with the youth, while welcoming many new young people to our movement."

SGI Newsletter No. 9512, Advancing with the Gosho: Words of Encouragement from SGI President Ikeda, (43) Moving Forwards With an Ever-youthful Spirit from 7th December, 2016, issue of the Seikyo Shinbun, translation released 15th Dec. 2016.

[1] From the Benevolent Kings Sutra. The "seven blessings" means averting or eradicating the seven disasters.
