-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Our palms are pressed together
in the utmost respect and appreciation
for all of our "uncrowned heroes and heroines",
who deliver the Seikyo Newspaper
and/or all our other SGI publications,
and all those people who support
and contribute articles to our publications,
starting with those who are in charge of
promoting and distributing.
Let's continue to expand the solidarity of hope
in the new year as well!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"And could not this illness of your husband's be the Buddha's design, because the Vimalakirti and Nirvana sutras both teach that sick people will surely attain Buddhahood? Illness gives rise to the resolve to attain the way."
(The Good Medicine for All Ills
- WND, Vol.1, page 937)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"I wish to wholeheartedly praise and applaud the tremendous efforts all our noble members have made for the sake of kosen-rufu this year.
"In a letter written one December, Nichiren Daishonin expresses his appreciation for the sincere efforts made by a disciple: 'Your kind intentions are deeper than the ocean, your acts of merit more substantial than the earth' (WND-2, 975).
"The Daishonin is aware of every single effort we make, no matter how inconspicuous.
"I would like to convey my deepest gratitude to those who deliver the Seikyo Shinbun, the Soka Gakkai's daily newspaper, especially in this cold season of winter; those who offer their homes for meetings; and to everyone who is working hard behind the scenes in their respective capacities to support our movement.
"As the Daishonin notes: 'Where there is unseen virtue, there will be visible reward' (WND-1, 907). Lives filled with unseen virtue through tireless dedicated efforts to the mission of kosen-rufu will shine with immeasurable visible reward.
"Day after day, year after year, accumulating the treasures of the heart; developing a life state of ever-increasing good fortune and benefit; and expanding the network of people who share and support our ideals—this is the life of Soka."
