-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Our Dedicated Soka Group
and Security Group members,
who shoulder the responsibility for kosen-rufu
of the next generation,
are now exerting themselves in propagating this Buddhism.
By winning over ourselves,
no matter what we may be facing right now,
let's write a new page in our own personal history
of overcoming our self-made limitations!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Today there are people who have faith in the Lotus Sutra. The belief of some is like fire while that of others is like water. When the former listen to the teachings, their passion flares up like fire, but as time goes on, they tend to discard their faith."
(The Two Kinds of Faith
- WND, Vol. I, page 899)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Adversity is a badge of honour—this is the invincible spirit of Soka.
"…If we take the view that the human race is one family whose home is planet Earth, we can transcend all differences to coexist harmoniously. Basing ourselves on the common ground we share at the deepest level of life is the foundation for true peace.
"The Daishonin writes: 'In the Latter Day of the Law, no treasure tower exists other than the figures of the men and women who embrace the Lotus Sutra [Nam-myoho-renge-kyo]' (WND-1, 299).
"All who uphold faith in the Mystic Law are supremely noble 'treasure towers of life' and 'pillars of humanism.'
"Our members, taking personal initiative to fulfil their mission for kosen-rufu in their respective communities, are truly 'pillars of hope.' Their strength not to be defeated by adversity, their dedication to the happiness of others—that example in itself makes them 'pillars of peace.'"
SGI Newsletter No. 9514, The Eternal Citadel of Soka, The Great Vow of Soka, from 22nd Nov., 2016, issue of the Seikyo Shinbun, translation released 19th Dec. 2016
