---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The Daishonin also writes: 'This Gohonzon also is found only in the two characters for faith'[1] (WND-1, 832).

"Without faith, the Gohonzon may exist in physical form, but its beneficial power will not be manifested. Only when the power of our faith and practice joins forces with the power of the Buddha and the Law will benefit result.

"Without faith and practice, Buddhism is dead.

"The Daishonin writes: 'What is most important is that, by chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo alone, you can attain Buddhahood. It will no doubt depend on the strength of your faith. To have faith is the basis of Buddhism' (WND-1, 832).

"It is the strength of our faith that ensures we attain Buddhahood; strong faith is the essential requirement, not somebody else's power or authority.

"Everything depends upon the strength of our faith. Those with strong faith are certain to be victorious in the end."
