---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The Gohonzon inscribed by the Daishonin is the essence of the Buddhism of the people, the teaching that enables all to attain Buddhahood based on the principle that embracing faith in the Mystic Law is in itself observing the mind. This is clearly explained in the Daishonin's writing 'The Object of Devotion for Observing the Mind' as follows: 'The observation of the mind means to observe one's own mind and to find the Ten worlds within it' (WND – 1, 356).

"Buddhism directs its gaze into the inner dimensions of life, delving deeply into the true nature of human existence. This is why it is called the 'inner way.'
"The fundamental approach of Buddhism is for each of us to observe our mind and thoroughly examine our self, so that we can come to understand the ultimate essence of our being.
"Though we can see how others look, we cannot see our own appearance unless we use a mirror. But a mirror does not show us what resides within us. That is why, to 'observe our mind,' we need a clear mirror that accurately and fully reflects our life through the wisdom of the Buddha. The Lotus Sutra and T'ien-t'ai's Great Concentration and Insight are such a mirror, the Daishonin says here.
"What becomes visible in that clear mirror is the life of each person who is striving and struggling earnestly to attain happiness in this saha world,* which is rife with the sufferings of birth, ageing, sickness and death, and the fact that each person's life equally embodies the principle of the 'mutual possession of the Ten Worlds'."
The Buddhism of the Sun—Illuminating the World, (29) A Religion of Human Revolution—Part 9, A Mirror Reflecting Our Life Just as It Is., September 2017, Daibyaku-renge, translation released May, 2018
* The saha world is this world, which is full of suffering. Often translated as the world of endurance. In Sanskrit, saha means the earth; it derives from a root meaning "to bear" or "to endure." For this reason, in the Chinese versions of Buddhist scriptures, saha is rendered as endurance. In this context, the saha world indicates a world in which people must endure suffering.
