[SGI-ToMyFriends-Wagatomo] Words of the Week June 25-July 1, 2018 + Daily Gosho June 25, Daily Encouragement June 26.

A translation of "Words of the Week" published in the Seikyo Shinbun based on President Ikeda's recent guidance, and more.

June 25th-July 1st, 2018
-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
All of our treasured members
who are selflessly contributing
to their local communities
are indeed the ambassadors
of the SGI movement.
The Daishonin encourages us,
"Where there is unseen virtue,
there will be visible reward."*
By trying to be open-minded with others
and broad-minded about various situations,
let's do our very best to shed
a light of happiness
on our beloved homeland!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"If in a single moment of life we exhaust the pains and trials of millions of kalpas, then instant after instant there will arise in us the three Buddha bodies with which we are eternally endowed. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is just such a 'diligent' practice."

(The Essential Passage in Each of the Twenty-eight Chapters of the Lotus Sutra,
Emerging from the Earth chapter
- OTT, page 214)

SGI President Ikeda's encouragement,

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The Lotus Sutra says that to share even one phrase of the correct teaching with another person is to do the work of the Buddha (cf.LSOC 10, 200).

"In The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, the Daishonin touches on three important points in sharing Buddhism with others: having 'gentle forbearance,'  the spirit of 'not begrudging one's life,' and the 'concern a mother has for her child' (cf.OTT, 84 - 85)."
