-- TO MY FRIENDS --
As the Daishonin asserts
"But still I am not discouraged,"*
let's resolutely challenge ourselves
with a positive optimistic attitude,
no matter what problems we may be facing!
Let's be people of this Buddhist practice
who are known for our courage and wisdom
and who're never swayed
by any praise or negative public opinion!

* "Because I have expounded this teaching, I have been exiled and almost killed.  As the saying goes, 'Good advice grates on the ear.'  But still I am not discouraged."
("The Essential for Attaining Buddhahood", WND-l page 748)

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"If the general were to lose heart, his soldiers would become cowards."

("The Supremacy of the Law", WND-l page 613)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo enables us to face all our problems and sufferings head-on. We who uphold the Mystic Law can summon the heart of a lion king to challenge and triumph over every difficulty we encounter.

"That is why the Daishonin says: 'There is no true happiness for human beings other than chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo' (WND –1, 681). He assures us that nothing brings greater happiness than chanting vibrant daimoku, no matter what happens."

The Buddhism of the Sun—Illuminating the World, [38] A Compass Guiding us to Lives Brimming with Joy and Pride, June 2018 issue of Daibyaku-renge, the Soka Gakkai monthly journal. Translation released March 2019.
