* We had a national press holiday yesterday so there was no paper today so we took the liberty of holding on to "Words of the Week" to cover the gap!
A translation of President Ikeda's "Words of the Week"
published in the Seikyo Shimbun and more.
Nov 11th-17th, 2013
-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
To have the opportunity to encounter an auspicious time (like now)
is an honourable chance of a lifetime.
"I could not be happier!"
Brimming with such a positive and joyful spirit,
let's play out a victorious drama
in this new era (for worldwide kosen-rufu)!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"To discard the shallow and seek the profound is the way of a person of courage."
(On Repaying Debts of Gratitude - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 712) Selection source: "Myoji no Gen", Seikyo Shimbun, Nov 10th, 2013

—— DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ——
The Daishonin writes: "Be deeply convinced, then, that your illness cannot possibly persist, and that your life cannot fail to be extended! Take care of yourself, and do not burden your mind with grief" (WND-1, 656).
This is important guidance for living wisely and enjoying a long, healthy, and fulfilling life.
The first point is "Be deeply convinced" (WND-1, 656). The Mystic Law has infinite power, so we should have the unshakable conviction that we can overcome our problems and that we will definitely be protected. We mustn't allow our illness to dampen our spirits.
The second point is "Take care of yourself" (WND-1, 656). It's crucial to lead a well-balanced and disciplined life, so that we'll be able to take problems in our stride when they arise.
And the third point is "Do not burden your mind with grief" (WND-1, 656). It's important to live wisely, with a strong, positive attitude, and to refrain from negativity and needless fretting and complaining.
