--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings says: The words 'four sides' stand for birth, aging, sickness, and death. We use the aspects of birth, aging, sickness, and death to adorn the tower that is our body."

(Ongi kuden - Gosho Zenshu, page 740, The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, page 90) Selection source: "Kyo no Hosshin", Seikyo Shimbun, November 1st, 2013

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
The aim of our Buddhist practice is to carry out our own limitless human revolution and, at the same time, to advance the great movement for kosen-rufu, bringing peace and happiness to all humanity.

The Daishonin clearly sets forth the fundamental path for making that a reality, stating: "Exert yourself in the two ways of practice and study. Without practice and study, there can be no Buddhism" (WND-1, 386).

Practice means to chant for kosen-rufu and take courageous action to share Buddhism with others. Study means to read and study the Daishonin's writings and make ceaseless efforts to deepen our understanding of Buddhism for our own happiness and that of others.

The German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer (1788–1860) said: "Only if we are convinced of the truth and importance of our ideas does the necessary enthusiasm arise to be intent on their clearest, finest, and most powerful expression, everywhere with untiring persistence."[1]

SGI Newsletter No. 8860, Our Brilliant Path to Victory, Be Champions in Studying Nichiren Daishonin's Writings, from 25th Sep. 25th, 2013, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun translated 29th Oct., 2013 ,
