-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Anyone who shares this Buddhism with others is
indeed "the envoy of the Thus Come One."*
The sincere caring words that we speak for that person's happiness
will definitely reach the buddha nature of their heart.
It is also certain that our lives will be adorned with
good fortune and benefit for this noble and venerable work!

*"If one of these good men or good women in the time after I have passed into extinction is able to secretly expound the Lotus Sutra to one person,
even one phrase of it, then you should know that he or she is the envoy of the Thus Come One."
- The Lotus Sutra, "Teacher of the Law" chapter,
"A Ship to Cross the Sea of Suffering," WND I, p. 33 (and others)

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"And yet, though one might point at the earth and miss it, though one might bind up the sky, though the tides might cease to ebb and flow and the sun rise in the west, it could never come about that the prayers of the practitioner of the Lotus Sutra would go unanswered.."

(On Prayer - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, page 345) Selection source: "Kyo no Hosshin", Seikyo Shimbun, November 16th, 2013

—— DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ——
"My mentor, second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda, once said: 'The sutra calls this world a place 'where living beings enjoy themselves at ease.' In other words, we were born here to enjoy ourselves. Kosen-rufu is the process of becoming happy ourselves and helping others do the same. Let's have the spirit that the more trying situation, the more joyfully we will challenge it!"

SGI Newsletter No. 8867, SGI President Ikeda's Message, 1st Soka Gakkai Headquarters Leaders Meeting, Brightly Illuminating the Future of the World, from 10th November, 2013, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translated 14th Nov. 2013
