-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The Daishonin states,
"I say all this solely for the sake of the nation,
for the sake of the Law, for the sake of others."*
Now, with pride,
let's all strive together to realise the greatest ideal of
"Establishing the Correct Teaching for the Peace of the Land"
by engaging in dialogue, with as many people as we possibly can,
so that we are able to enlarge the solidarity of good
(and create a world of harmony and peaceful coexistence)!
*"The Rationale for Writing "On Establishing the Correct Teaching for
the Peace of the Land" - WND-I, page 164
**People are seeking a philosophy that will lead to genuine happiness. They are earnestly searching, from the depths of their beings, for a new movement dedicated to helping everyone reveal their inherent dignity and, through the power of dialogue, expanding a network of good and creating a world of harmony and peaceful coexistence. Upholding the banner of Nichiren Daishonin's ideal of "establishing
the correct teaching for the peace of the land," the Soka Gakkai will steadfastly continue to pursue the mission of realising social change for the sake of people's happiness and world peace. This is the essence of a religion that exists to serve human beings and the fundamental spirit of Buddhism. It is proof that our efforts are in exact accord with the spirit of Nichiren Daishonin. It is also the very heart of the shared struggle of mentor and disciple in the Soka Gakkai.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"It is extremely rare to be born as a human being. Not only are you endowed with human form, but you have had the rare fortune to encounter Buddhism. Moreover, out of the Buddha's many teachings you have encountered the daimoku, or the title, of the Lotus Sutra and become its votary."
(Letter to Jakunichi-bō
- WND, Vol. 1, page 993)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"War starts when people are fearful and suspicious, worried that another country might attack them, or when people feel hatred towards other countries.
"Therefore, if we foster strong feelings of friendship and trust among people everywhere, we can put an end to war and eliminate nuclear weapons from the world.
"The power to do this comes from courage.
"…In Nichiren Buddhism, the greatest and strongest kind of courage is described as having 'the heart of a lion king.' This heart, this courage, is not visible, but is manifested as actions to never seek happiness at the expense of others."
