-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Our steady and consistent efforts
to visit our fellow members
and offer them warm encouragement and support
is the very driving force
for the advancement of kosen-rufu.
By having frank and candid conversations,
listening and talking to them
with honest concern,
let's try to create a new wave together
and make this year truly victorious!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"And yet, though one might point at the earth and miss it, though one might bind up the sky, though the tides might cease to ebb and flow and the sun rise in the west, it could never come about that the prayers of the practitioner of the Lotus Sutra would go unanswered."

(On Prayer

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"'Whatever obstacles I might encounter, so long as persons of wisdom do not prove my teachings to be false, I will never yield! All other troubles are no more to me than dust before the wind.'
-From "The Opening of the Eyes" (WND-1, 280).

"While facing life-threatening persecution on Sado Island, Nichiren Daishonin transformed his place of exile into a Land of Tranquil Light and revealed the way for all people to make their lives shine as 'treasure towers,' noble entities of the Mystic Law.

"Inheriting his lofty spirit, our members everywhere, including those of outlying islands and other remote communities, have overcome many difficulties to gain the trust and support of those around them.

"In Nichiren Buddhism, we possess a philosophy of indestructible truth. Sweeping away all obstacles like 'dust before the wind,' let's firmly establish a 'pillar of peace' in our communities and societies."

SGI Newsletter No. 9730, Advancing with the Gosho: Words of Encouragement from SGI President Ikeda, (86) Sweeping Away All Obstacles like "Dust before the Wind." From 5th October, 2017, issue of the Seikyo Shinbun, translation released 24th Oct. 2017
