"In the days when I was supporting Mr. Toda with his business challenges, I was also a young men's division group leader. I viewed every aspect of the Soka Gakkai as my own personal mission. I would agonise, ponder, and chant about how best to advance kosen-rufu, and then take action with all my might.
"As a disciple one in spirit with Mr. Toda, an unparalleled leader of kosen-rufu, I dealt with all kinds of challenges in the course of our activities in Ota, Bunkyo, Katsushika and Arakawa wards in Tokyo, as well as in Osaka and Yamaguchi prefectures, and elsewhere, always asking myself what my mentor would do in any given situation."
