""The Lotus Sutra is a 'mountain of riches,' and the Gohonzon contains limitless power. Those who embrace the Gohonzon, therefore, are people of tremendous good fortune and 'wealthy,' as the Daishonin states.
"'Wealthy' doesn't simply mean having abundant financial or material riches. Such wealth disappears when those riches are lost. That is why it's more important to have 'spiritual wealth' stemming from an elevated and expansive life state in which we can experience satisfaction and joy no matter what our circumstances. That is the fundamental requirement for attaining happiness."
