-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Let's be cautious of fraudsters
and incidents of cheating!
If we find ourselves wondering about
If we find ourselves wondering about
a money transaction request
or even something else slightly fraudulent,
it's better not to just rely on our own judgment,
but to draw upon the help and wisdom
or even something else slightly fraudulent,
it's better not to just rely on our own judgment,
but to draw upon the help and wisdom
of someone we trust and respect.
As the Gosho reminds us:
"be millions of times more careful than ever."*
*As I have said before, be millions of times more careful than ever."

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"All the characters in which the Lotus Sutra is written represent living Buddhas. But because we have the eyes of common mortals, we see them as characters. It is like the example of the Ganges River. Hungry spirits see the waters of the river as fire, human beings see them as water, and heavenly beings see them as amrita. The waters are the same in all cases, but each type of being sees them differently, according to the effects of its karma."
(Letter to Hōren
"His reply perfectly described how he lived his own life. The best medicine to make us smarter is to never give in to defeat, keeping alive our determination to go on learning and rising to the challenge.
"Those who seek to learn out of their own desire are victors in life, and those who continue to learn at their own pace are experts in the art of learning and happiness."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"I once asked the famed scientist Linus Pauling (1901–94) if there is any medicine that can make us smarter. He smiled and replied: 'The only way is effort and more effort. Never giving up, no matter how great the hardship, and pressing ahead with our search for answers, confident that we can succeed in the end.'
