[SGI-ToMyFriends-Wagatomo] 11th March To My Friends & Daily Gosho + 12th March Daily Enc.

* We are OK here in Tokyo and further south, but to the north things are not really going too well. Sensei and his wife are OK and has been sending messages to our school to encourage us all. Many students had to stay the night but we had all the necessary equipment and provisions. Hopefully you will get more news as the day progresses from your local SGI organisations. All the very best and here was yesterday's guidance BEFORE the quake. If you are looking for relatives & close friends this is a people finder that might help

"I entrust you with the propagation of Buddhism in your province."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Our vibrant voices chanting daimoku give power and strength not only to the main tutelary gods of Buddhism, Brahma and Shakra, but to all heavenly deities--the benevolent forces of the universe--activating and strengthening their protective functions. Our chanting also moves all the Buddhas and bodhisattvas of the ten directions and three existences into action, and the functions of harmony and value creation will flourish in our communities and throughout the land.

"We must remember the words, 'The voice does the Buddha's work' (cf. OTT, 4).... Similarly, when it comes to chanting daimoku, it's important that we constantly strive to strengthen our faith and deepen our practice. A firm commitment in faith and assiduous persistence in practice are the cornerstones of chanting.

"The invincible power of our daimoku--overflowing with the power of faith and the power of practice--can break through the darkness or ignorance that shrouds the lives of ourselves and others and call forth the magnificent dignity and strength of the Buddha nature that is inherent in all living beings. Through chanting, we can expand the realm of happiness and joy for ourselves and others, and bring forth a world filled ever more with the positive energy and peace of mind that is a reflection of Buddhahood."
