Here in Tokyo we have had a very cold day, not so bad as further north where energy supplies are running out, and this has caused a power surge which means that tomorrow we may have to experience two long power outages. Tokyo battles on though like elsewhere in Japan to keep the economy going.... No matter what we will come through!
Absolutely!...here's today's To My Friends...
A translation of President Ikeda's "To My Friends" published in the Seikyo Shimbun and more.

-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Even if we should meet with disasters and calamities,
they cannot destroy our hearts!*
The good fortune that we have accumulated thus far
is an integral part of our lives across the three existences
and across eternity.
(Firmly believing in this,) with strong and courageous hearts
let us advance on!
* From President Ikeda's message on March 16th, 2011 - Nichiren Daishonin writes that even if we should meet with disasters and calamities, they cannot destroy our hearts (cf. WND-2, 135). Nothing can destroy the treasures of the heart. Every adversity is but a trial for us to overcome so that we can attain eternal happiness. The Daishonin 's Buddhism, our practice of faith in the Mystic Law, enables us to transform all poison into medicine without fail.
