-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Now, more than ever before,
is the time for us to interact and talk
with as many people as we possibly can.
The more we share this Buddhism with others,
the more we expand not only our own happiness but also that of others.
Patiently and with perseverance,
honestly and in our own unique way of speaking,
let's challenge ourselves as courageously as great lion kings do!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Be diligent in developing your faith until the last moment of your life. Otherwise you will have regrets. For example, the journey from Kamakura to Kyoto takes twelve days. If you travel for eleven but stop with only one day remaining, how can you admire the moon over the capital?"
(Letter to Niike - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page )

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"'The Buddha, being truly worthy of respect, never judges by the size of one's offerings. In the past, the boy Virtue Victorious offered a mud pie to the Buddha, and was reborn as King Ashoka and ruled over all of Jambudvipa [the entire world]. A poor woman cut off her hair and sold it to buy oil [for the Buddha], and not even the winds sweeping down from Mount Sumeru could extinguish the flame of the lamp fed by this oil.'
From 'Reply to Onichi-nyo' (WND-1, 1089).

"The lamp fuelled by the poor woman's sincere offering of oil could not be extinguished by even the most violent winds. In the same way, it is your dedicated efforts, fuelled by the sincere desire for each person's happiness, that opens the way to lasting victory.

"No matter how fiercely the winds of adversity blow, they cannot put out the flame of good fortune that we have lit in our lives. Nor can the flame of the noble Mystic Law that we have lit in society ever be extinguished.

"Let's raise a cheer for the women's division! I wish to express my profound gratitude to you all."
SGI Newsletter No. 8251, LIVING THE GOSHO: WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT FROM SGI PRESIDENT IKEDA, (32) The Flame of Good Fortune Burns Brightly, from the June 8th, 2011, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translated June 9th, 2011.
