---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"In our dialogue titled 'The Unifying Power of Culture,' Chairperson Gao Zhanxiang of the Chinese Culture Promotion Society (CCPS) enumerated the five important requirements for the leaders of a new age:

(1) the spirit to seek capable people;
(2) the ability to appreciate capable people;
(3) the daring to put capable people to work;
(4) the sense to foster capable people; and
(5) the broad-mindedness to welcome capable people.

"The key to an organisation's growth and development and the mark of a leader's true ability lie in how many capable people they can foster and enable to give full play to their potential and abilities.

"The 'humanitarian competition' envisioned by Soka Gakkai founder Tsunesaburo Makiguchi is concerned with how many talented individuals dedicated to peace and justice can be fostered.

"When new leadership appointments in the SGI are made, those vacating the positions should support the new leaders wholeheartedly, rejoicing and taking pride in their successes as if they were their own and making even greater efforts together to promote everyone's growth and development."

SGI Newsletter No. 8256, OUR BRILLIANT PATH TO VICTORY, The Fresh Development of Youth--Part 1 [of 2], translated June 16th , 2011, from the May 25th, 2011, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun.
