-- TO MY FRIENDS --
To take action together and to talk with each other --
this is how to develop the skills and capabilities of new people.
I hope that as leaders we will always enthusiastically support
our Youth Division members' efforts
to introduce this Buddhism to others
and at the same time happily help the growth
of our Future Division members
(primary and secondary school students).

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"If in a single moment of life we exhaust the pains and trials of millions of kalpas, then instant after instant there will arise in us the three Buddha bodies with which we are eternally endowed. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is just such a 'diligent' practice."
(Ongi kuden - Gosho Zenshu, page 790, The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, page 214)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"'When the bodhisattva Never Disparaging makes his bow of obeisance to the four kinds of believers, the Buddha nature inherent in the four kinds of believers of overbearing arrogance bows in obeisance to the bodhisattva Never Disparaging. It is like the situation when one faces a mirror and makes a bow of obeisance: the image in the mirror likewise makes a bow of obeisance to oneself.'
From The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, p. 165.
"No one is stronger than a person who has steadfastly chanted Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, the very essence of Nichiren Daishonin's teachings. There is nothing more honourable or empowering than chanting for the happiness of others. Our capacity to chant for the happiness of others itself is a reflection of the life-state of Buddhahood.
"When we change, those in our environment will definitely change, too. Conversations in which we share the greatness of the Daishonin's Buddhism are infinitely profound interactions that vibrantly summon forth the Buddha nature in our own life and the lives of others."
SGI Newsletter No. 8263, LIVING THE GOSHO: WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT FROM SGI PRESIDENT IKEDA, (36) When We Change, Our Environment Changes, translated June 22nd, 2011, from the June 21st, 2011, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun.
