-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Buddhism teaches the principle of cherry, plum, peach and damson.*
A cherry blossom is a cherry blossom and a plum is a plum.
Each and every one of us is a noble and precious entity.
(With confidence and pride in our uniqueness,)
let us advance steadily along the path of our special missions
that is ours alone to fulfil!

* (Gosho, Ongi kuden - Gosho Zenshu, page 784, The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, page 200, "When one comes to realise and see that each thing--the cherry, the plum, the peach, the damson--in its own entity, without undergoing any change, possesses the eternally endowed three bodies, then this is what is meant by the word
ryo, 'to include' or all inclusive.")

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
The purpose of the appearance in this world of Shakyamuni Buddha, the lord of teachings, lies in his behaviour as a human being."
(The Three Kinds of Treasure - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 852)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"No other time in history has called so urgently for people with a sense of self-motivation--for people who are willing to take the initiative and create new value while remaining focused and undaunted in the face of major changes or upheavals.

"...A Buddhist scripture says: 'Become the master of your mind rather than let your mind master you.' 'Becoming the master of your mind' means building a mountain of solid and unshakable conviction within you that can properly, wisely, and strongly guide your constantly wavering thoughts, and having the spirit to learn from one another and work together."
SGI Newsletter No. 8246, Take Initiative, Create New Value, from the March 3rd, 2011, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translated June 3rd, 2011
