-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Beware of heavy downpours, flooding,
thunder and lightning, land slides, etc.
whenever and wherever there seems to be a storm approaching.
Make sure to stay away from any dangerous spots
and never even try to approach such places.
Let's always use our wisdom and good common sense
to protect ourselves and others around us!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"If all of you nurture the same seeds of Myoho-renge-kyo in your hearts, then you all will be reborn together in the same land of Myoho-renge-kyo. When the three of you are reunited there face to face, how great your joy will be!"
(Reply to the Mother of Ueno - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, page 1074) Selection source: SGI President Ikeda's guidance,

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"
'Nevertheless, Shakyamuni Buddha refused to entrust the mission of propagation to any of these people [his voice-hearer disciples and other bodhisattvas gathered at the assembly of the Lotus Sutra] and gave it instead to the Bodhisattvas of the Earth. Thus these bodhisattvas are the ones who had thoroughly forged their resolve.' From 'General Stone Tiger' (WND-1, 953). |
"Nichiren Daishonin declared that the reason Shakyamuni entrusted the Bodhisattvas of the Earth with the mission of propagating the Mystic Law was because they had 'thoroughly forged their resolve.' Without a solidly forged resolve or commitment, it would not be possible to realize kosen-rufu in the evil age of the Latter Day of the Law.
"In accord with this spirit, we of the SGI have striven to develop and strengthen our lives through applying ourselves in Buddhist practice and study. Exerting ourselves in this way, especially during the summer, is a Gakkai tradition from the days of first Soka Gakkai president Tsunesaburo Makiguchi.
"Let's start each day with a vigorous gongyo, and make this a truly meaningful summer of self-development!"
