-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Let's always lend an ear to our friends' sufferings
and share the power and confidence of Buddhism with them.
Chanting Daimoku of empathy, really making their suffering our own,
is where the heartfelt sincerity of Soka members shines through.
Let's become wise people overflowing with courage and compassion!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Since childhood, I, Nichiren, have never prayed for the secular
things of this life but have single-mindedly sought to become a
Buddha. Of late, however, I have been ceaselessly praying for your
sake to the Lotus Sutra, Shakyamuni Buddha, and the god of the sun,
for I am convinced that you are a person who can inherit the soul of
the Lotus Sutra."
(The Hero of the World - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol. 1, page 839)
Selection source: SGI President Ikeda's Essay, "The Song of Human
Victory", Seikyo Shimbun, July 11th, 2014

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The renowned American educator John Dewey (1859-1952). Dewey declared: 'Ours is the responsibility of conserving, transmitting, rectifying and expanding the heritage of values we have received that those who come after us may receive it more solid and secure, more widely accessible and more generously shared than we have received it.' These words are engraved on his tombstone. Today, I would like to impart them to you, my successors and most beloved disciples."
