-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The Daishonin encourages us to be
"filial towards our father and mother."*
A person who can repay their debt of gratitude
to their parents is indeed a truly great person.
Through what we say and do
let's do all we can to convey our appreciation to our parents.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Therefore, wherever we dwell and practise the single vehicle, that
place will be the Capital of Eternally Tranquil Light."

(Reply to Sairen-bō - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 313). Selection Source: "Kyo no Hosshin", Seikyo Shinbun, August 21st, 2014

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"In our blocks and districts, we find the very essence of Buddhist practice. We find a realm of encouragement and support that characterises the people-centred Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin, as well as a preeminent model for a human community that can illuminate the future.

"The Daishonin writes: 'All those who keep faith in the Lotus Sutra are most certainly Buddhas' (WND-1, 756); and '[The Lotus Sutra] says [regarding a person who accepts and upholds this sutra], "You should rise and greet him from afar, showing him the same respect you would a Buddha" [LSOC28, 365]. You should respect one another [as Buddhas]' (WND-1, 757)."

SGI Newsletter No. 9067, Applauding Our Men's and Women's Division Group Leaders,  from the September 2014 issue of the Daibyakurenge, translation released 18th Aug., 2014
