-- TO MY FRIENDS --
This is the time of year when there are sharp fluctuations
in daytime and night-time temperatures.
Let's take due care to wisely look after ourselves,
for example,
by keeping warm at night so we don't catch
a chill while sleeping!
Let's all try to advance in the very best of good health!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"What is most important is that, by chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo
alone, you can attain Buddhahood. It will no doubt depend on the
strength of your faith. To have faith is the basis of Buddhism."

(The Real Aspect of the Gohonzon - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin,
Vol.1, page 832)
Selection source: "Teachings of Buddhism", August 23rd, 2014

—— DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"When the Daishonin was struggling against harsh persecution while in exile on Sado Island, he declared with great confidence in the future:

"'Were they not Bodhisattvas of the Earth, they could not chant the daimoku. At first only Nichiren chanted Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, but then two, three, and a hundred followed, chanting and teaching others. Propagation will unfold this way in the future as well. Does this not signify 'emerging from the earth?' (WND-1, 385)

"May all of you, in your respective local areas, treasure and encourage each person and support their growth. I also hope you will call forth those with whom you share profound karmic ties in this lifetime—members and nonmembers alike—and confidently lead lives dedicated to fulfilling your personal vow.

"Together, let's take fresh, energetic strides towards the realisation of worldwide kosen-rufu."

SGI Newsletter No. 9074, On Our Shared Journey for Kosen-rufu—II, Challenges Make Us Stronger, from the 29th Sep., 2013, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translation released 28th Aug. 2014
