-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
Let's express our utmost respect and appreciation
to all of those members who are contributing to
the peace of their local community and the prosperity of society.
Buddhism is all about our behaviour as human beings.*
Cheerfully and with sincerity,
let's expand our circles of trust and friendship!

*"The purpose of the appearance in this world of Shakyamuni Buddha, the lord of teachings, lies in his behaviour as a human being." -  "The Three Kinds of Treasure" - WND-I, page 852

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"... who chants the daimoku, is the Thus Come One's emissary. Also, one who perseveres through great persecutions and embraces the sutra from beginning to end is the Thus Come One's emissary."

(The Farther the Source, the Longer the Stream  -The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol. 1, Page 942)
Selection source: "Kyo no Hosshin", Seikyo Shimbun, Nov 3rd, 2014

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The power of words derives from the human heart. The mind, the heart, is what lies beneath the words themselves and gives them life. Nichiren Daishonin observes: 'Words echo the thoughts of the mind and find expression through the voice' (WND-2, 843). The same words can have very different degrees of power, too, depending on the depth of the hearts of those who speak them."

SGI Newsletter No. 9114, Advancing Worldwide Kosen-rufu through One-on-One Interactions, from the February 2014 issue of the Daibyakurenge, translation released 30th Oct., 2014.
