---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"I remember visiting the home of one member, who was struggling with her husband's illness and great economic hardship. 'How long will we be poor like this?' She asked me, I replied with unshakable conviction: 'Benefit in the Latter Day of the Law takes the form of inconspicuous benefit. But even thin sheets of paper, when piled up one on top of another, day after day, will, in 10 or 20 years, become a huge, towering mountain. Our Buddhist practice enables us to fundamentally transform our state of life. You will definitely become happy.'
"In Buddhism, everything has profound meaning; nothing is ever wasted.
"Based on the Buddhist principle that 'earthly desires lead to enlightenment,' the more hardships and challenges you struggle with now, the more you can elevate your life state. And based on the 'simultaneity of cause and effect,' the more you strive now to sincerely encourage others, the more future leaders will be fostered for our movement.
"Please continue steadily and enjoyably to sow the seeds for becoming happy by taking part in Gakkai activities and to sow the seeds for fostering capable individuals by encouraging and supporting others. The 'unseen virtue' you accumulate through such efforts are certain, over time, to blossom as immeasurable 'visible reward.'"
