"The Daishonin calls out to his disciple: 'Be spoken of by all the people of Kamakura, both high and low, or by all the people of Japan, as "Shijo Kingo, Shijo Kingo of the Lotus school!"' (WND-1, 319).
"He tells Kingo to become a person who is praised throughout the land as 'Shijo Kingo of the Lotus school'—in other words, as Nichiren Daishonin's disciple, Shijo Kingo.
"It is vital that we put Buddhism into practice in our lives and in society. To be genuine practitioners of Nichiren Buddhism, it is essential that we demonstrate proof of our absolute victory based on faith and win the praise and recognition of others.
"The Daishonin's encouragement to gain renown as 'Shijo Kingo of the Lotus school,' is an eternal guideline for us all—one that we SGI members have engraved in our hearts and continued to live by, thus showing irrefutable proof of the power of the Mystic Law in our lives. There is no more noble or wonderful way of life than this."
