"And yet, though one might point at the earth and miss it, though one might bind up the sky, though the tides might cease to ebb and flow and the sun rise in the west, it could never come about that the prayers of the practitioner of the Lotus Sutra would go unanswered."

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The heart is a mirror. Nichiren Buddhism is a teaching of respect for the dignity of life, and enables all people to polish, strengthen, and make that heart, that mind, with its infinite potential, shine its brightest.
"Nichiren Daishonin writes: 'A mind now clouded by the illusion of the innate darkness of life is like a tarnished mirror, but when polished, it is sure to become like a clear mirror, reflecting the essential nature of phenomena and the true aspect of reality' (WND-1, 4).
"By chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo and polishing our lives day after day, we can make our lives shine like a bright mirror, and come to shine brilliantly in our own unique way. We can also help those around us make their lives shine radiantly. I hope that you will all make your hearts shine and become experts in friendship who can brilliantly illuminate everyone in your lives."
Spread Your Wings Towards the Future, (33) The State Guesthouse in Beijing, from the Dec. 1st, 2016 issue of the Mirai (Future) Journal, translation released Jan. 2018
