[SGI-ToMyFriends-Wagatomo] 11-17 Jan. 2016, Words of the Week, 11 Jan Daily Gosho + 12 Jan. Daily Encouragement

A translation of President Ikeda's "Words of the Week"
published in the Seikyo Shimbun and more.

January 11th - 17th, 2016
-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
The young women, "Sisters of the Kayokai,"
are about to start their Roman General Meetings.*
The Daishonin encourages us with the following,
"A daughter opens up the gate of another household."**
Peace movements start from
dialogues that women have with others.
Let's expand the network of hope and friendships we have!
Let's all offer them kind support and warm encouragement
so that they can hold truly successful meetings.

*The Soka Gakkai Young Womens Division will be holding general meetings named "Roman General Meeting" throughout Japan during January.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is what is meant by entering the palace of oneself."

(The Essential Passage in Each of the Twenty-eight Chapters of the Lotus Sutra, Simile and Parable -
The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, page 209)
Selection source: "Suntetsu",
Seikyo Shimbun, Jan. 11th, 2016

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"'You should always talk with each other to free yourselves from the sufferings of birth and death and attain the pure land of Eagle Peak, where you will nod to each other and speak in one mind.'
- From "Flowering and Bearing Grain," (WND-1, 909).

"We are fellow members linked by ties of mission throughout the three existences of past, present, and future.

"The SGI is a realm of beautiful harmony, in exact accord with the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin, where everyone supports each other and works together to create happiness and hope. As members of the Soka family, let's always talk with and encourage one another.

"When we chant, study, and take action together, our unity deepens. A network of people committed to working for kosen-rufu as they share each other's joys and sorrows is the driving force for surmounting and triumphing over the sufferings of birth and death."

SGI Newsletter No. 9333, Living the Gosho: Words of Encouragement (2), (72) Encouraging One Another and Advancing Together, from 17th December, 2015, issue of the Seikyo Shimbun, translation released 7th Jan. 2016
