-- TO MY FRIENDS --
Let's always remember to express our
heartfelt appreciation and gratitude
to those families who
offer their homes for SGI activities!
Making sure we take responsibility
for concluding meetings on time
switching off no longer used lights,
consuming water and electricity wisely,
and ensuring that we cause
the least possible disturbance
to the neighbours.
Let's protect these castles
of our community together.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"But your faith alone will determine all these things. A sword is useless in the hands of a coward. The mighty sword of the Lotus Sutra must be wielded by one courageous in faith. Then one will be as strong as a demon armed with an iron staff."

(Reply to Kyō'ō
- WND, Vol 1, page 412)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The great Russian author Leo Tolstoy (1828–1910), whose works I avidly read in my youth, commented with keen perception: 'The life of man is determined by his thoughts.'[1]

"Just as 'gigantic oaks grow from acorns,' Tolstoy observed, thought has enormous power that 'determines this or that act of an individual and millions of men.'[2] 'Our life is good or evil,' he said, 'depending on our thoughts.'[3] That is why we must pay careful
attention to the thought, or philosophy, that guides our lives.

"For us, this means basing our lives on the Mystic Law. Making the supreme teaching of Buddhism our foundation enables us to triumph in life. We keep challenging ourselves and move forwards with strong faith, propelled by the 'two wheels' of practice and study. Practice-oriented study is the tradition of the Soka Gakkai, and faith means basing ourselves on the Gosho, the writings of Nichiren Daishonin."
