* Whoops slight mix up in dates and days!...

A translation of "Words of the Week" published in the Seikyo Shinbun based on President Ikeda's recent guidance, and more.

February 20th-26th, 2017
-- Words of the Week --
The Daishonin teaches us,
"One is the mother of ten thousand."*
With the type of voice
that can summon forth the spring,
let's try to encourage
each and every person
whom we have a chance to meet
and make them an ally of our movement.
From such actions,
countless waves of hope are born.

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"Though worldly troubles may arise, never let them disturb you. No one can avoid problems, not even sages or worthies. Drink sake only at home with your wife, and chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo."

(Happiness in This World
- WND, Vol. I, page 681)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Studying the Gosho produces, develops, and provides training for capable individuals. The Gosho pulses with the great life force of the Daishonin, who fought his hardest as the votary of the Lotus Sutra. At Gosho lectures, both the lecturer and the participants come into contact with the Daishonin's lion-like state of life. Their own life states cannot fail to expand immensely. That is precisely why the Soka Gakkai sees Gosho lectures as important forums or training grounds for fostering capable people."

SGI Newsletter No. 9552, SGI President Ikeda's Study Lecture Series, The Buddhism of the Sun—Illuminating the World, [15] Basing Ourselves on the Writings of Nichiren Daishonin—Part 2 [of 2], Building a Network of Capable People in Every Region, from the July 2016 issue of the Daibyakurenge, translation released 17th Feb., 2017
