-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
Hurrah for the great noble victory (for the cause of kosen-rufu)!
I would like to express my deepest respect and appreciation
to all of you for your hard work and selfless dedication.
This is a new era for us
where the "people" play the leading role.
In leaps and bounds,
let's now all get ready to start a new year!

Komeito, the coalition partner in the present Japanese government, won 35 seats in Sunday's House of Representatives election this last weekend, an increase of 13%. Komeito was originally founded by the Soka Gakkai in 1964 that later separated into an independent entity, with Soka Gakkai providing only electoral support. The Komeito is committed to protecting human rights, including freedom of religion, and protects the interests of non-union labour and people who work in small and medium-sized companies.
