-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
It is certain that all the Buddhas and gods are witnessing
our dedication and devotion to achieving kosen-rufu in the depth of winter.
Accumulating the benefit that we gain from one day's practice
that surpasses a hundred years of practice,*
let's strive together to complete this year's goals and targets
with great, victorious accomplishments!

*"A hundred years of practice in the Land of Perfect Bliss cannot compare to the benefit gained from one day's practice in the impure world." - "On Repaying Debts of Gratitude", WND-I, page 736

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"The fact that her prayers have gone unanswered is like a strong bow with a weak bowstring, or a fine sword in the hands of a coward."

(The Royal Palace - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol. 1, page 489)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Especially in the evil age of the Latter Day of the Law, to relieve people of suffering and guide them  to enlightenment, it is essential to teach the great Law that enables individuals to transform their inner state of life. The key lies in each person awakening to and drawing forth from their own lives 'the mystic truth that is originally inherent in all living beings'[1] (WND-1, 3)—in other words, the truth that potential as vast as the universe itself resides within us.

"All living things possess an inner life state of absolute worth and dignity. Everyone possesses the same life state as a Buddha—the compassion to nurture all things, the wisdom to illuminate people's darkness, and the courage to battle ignorance. Therefore, all people are absolutely noble and respect worthy, and when they bring forth from within the life state that is equal to the Buddha, they all become Buddhas. By revealing the path to enlightenment for all people, the Daishonin's Buddhism imparts hope and courage to everyone.

"All without exception have the innate capacity and power to overcome adversity. Awakening to this one point is the essence of faith in Nichiren Buddhism. Without this realisation, people will seek the Law and the Buddha outside themselves, clinging to externals, and pinning their hopes on miracles.

"Appearing in the Latter Day of the Law where such externally focused faith was prevalent, Nichiren Daishonin taught the great Law of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo and established the means by which all people could tap their infinite potential through the practice of chanting daimoku and create happiness for themselves and others with a life force equal to that of the Buddha."

SGI Newsletter No. 9119, Learning from the Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, The Teachings for Victory, [61] "Letter to the Sage Nichimyo", Winning in Life through Striving for Kosen-rufu with an, Unflagging Seeking Spirit in Faith, from the March 2014 issue of the Daibyakurenge, translation released 17th Nov., 2014

[1] The mystic truth that is originally inherent in all living beings: This refers to the Mystic Law, or Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, which is inherent in all life. By awakening to this Law, we can bring forth the great life state of Buddhahood. The mystic truth also indicates our inherent Buddhahood or Buddha nature.
