-- TO MY FRIENDS --
The unique mission of our fellow members in Hokkaido
is the realisation of the vow to accomplish kosen-rufu!
Now is the time to expand and foster capable new bodhisattvas of the earth
by exerting the true power of a lion!
Let's rigorously exert ourselves in faith with a strong seeking spirit!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"As you crave food when hungry, seek water when thirsty, long to see a lover, beg for medicine when ill, or as a beautiful woman desires powder and rouge, so should you put your faith in the Lotus Sutra."

(Persecution by Sword and Staff
- The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 965)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Unseen virtue leads to visible reward, notes the Daishonin. As an expression of my gratitude to all who work so hard behind the scenes for kosen-rufu, I would like to offer these words from the Silk Road poet Berdakh (1827–1900): 'If you strive arduously for the happiness of others, your sincere efforts will not be wasted. Eventually, the people will sing the praises of your labours.' [1]

"The quiet, dedicated efforts
you continue to make
behind the scenes
will imbue your life eternally
with the lofty fragrance of visible reward."

SGI Newsletter No. 9120, Appreciation for Those Making Noble Efforts Behind the Scenes, from the December 2014 issue of the Daibyakurenge, translation released 18th Nov., 2014
