A translation of President Ikeda's "Words of the Week"
published in the Seikyo Shimbun and more.

-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
The heart of the strategy of the Lotus Sutra
is "courageous faith."
If we do our best to share this Buddhism and its philosophy
with others in a bold and confident manner,
more and more people can form a connection with Buddhism.
Let's advance with ever-victorious and unstoppable momentum!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"When one comes to realise and see that each thing—the cherry, the plum, the peach, the damson—in its own entity, without undergoing any change, possesses the eternally endowed three bodies, then this is what is meant by the word ryō, 'to include' or all-inclusive."
(The Immeasurable Meanings Sutra, Six important points, "Point Two, concerning the character ryō" -The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings, page 200)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"'I wonder if you and I have not been pledged to each other as teacher and disciple from countless kalpas in the past. You and I have been born together in this defiled age of the Latter Day of the Law, in the country of Japan in the southern continent of Jambudvipa, and with the utmost reverence we chant with our mouths Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, the ultimate reason for which the Buddhas appear in the world; we believe in it in our hearts, embrace it with our bodies, and delight in it with our hands. Has all of this not come about solely because of some bond of karma we share from the past?'
- From "Reply to Sairen-bo" (WND-1, 309).
"Mentors and disciples dedicated to the realisation of kosen-rufu are joined by a mutual pledge that continues throughout the three existences of past, present, and future. They share a bond that can never be destroyed by even the most formidable legions of devilish functions.
"The Soka Gakkai, whose members walk the path of mentor and disciple directly connected to Nichiren Daishonin, has won over all onslaughts by the three obstacles and four devils and the three powerful enemies of Buddhism to open the way toward worldwide kosen-rufu. Its momentous struggle over these past 84 years since its founding is a chronicle of the victory of mentor and disciple.
"Let's forever continue writing a grand epic of the people's triumph through the unity of mentor and disciple, the most noble spiritual bond we can share as human beings."
