—— DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Encouraging Yasaburo, a follower confronting an important challenge for kosen-rufu, Nichiren Daishonin writes: 'You must simply make up your mind" (WND-1, 829). Saying that this is a chance for Yasaburo to make a name for himself, the Daishonin goes on to encourage him: "You should pray intently that Shakyamuni, Many Treasures, and the Buddhas of the ten directions will all gather and enter into your body to assist you' (WND-1, 829).

"We of the SGI are carrying on the Daishonin's spirit, chanting and striving for the realisation of kosen-rufu. As such, we cannot fail to display the great power of the Buddha or open up the path to truth and victory. The harder you exert yourselves in your indescribably challenging efforts, the more certain it is that you will attain immense benefit that will endure for all eternity.

"My friends, who shine with unsurpassed unity of purpose! Let's show the world our brilliant dramas of human revolution, staying ever alert and moving forwards with joy, optimism, and strength. I am chanting for you, praying deeply and strongly that Brahma and Shakra—the protective functions of the universe—will safeguard all of you, my precious fellow members."
