-- TO MY FRIENDS --
On the heads of those who continue to advance,
burning with the spirit to fulfill their vows (for kosen-rufu),
the laurels of victory in life certainly shine.
By chanting daimoku and taking action
with indomitable determination,
let's create a history of outstanding victory and success!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"I will be the pillar of Japan. I will be the eyes of Japan. I will be the great ship of Japan. This is my vow, and I will never forsake it!"

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"The future division was the first division I established after becoming the third president of the Soka Gakkai. [1] I set about personally fostering the future division members. Together, we studied and deeply engraved in our hearts the passage from the Daishonin's writing 'Letter from Sado': 'Those with the heart of a lion king are sure to attain Buddhahood' (WND-1, 302).

"Countless ordinary people, unheralded men and women, have joined me in rousing the 'heart of a lion king' and striving fearlessly in the face of adversity to build the great, united bastion of the Soka Gakkai, an organisation dedicated to the noble cause of kosen-rufu.

"As such, the first, all-important element of the Soka Gakkai spirit that I would like the future division members to carry on is the 'heart of a lion king.'

"Truly capable individuals are those who foster others."

SGI Newsletter No. 9235. My Shining Successors, Win through Learning, from the May 2015 issue of the Daibyakurenge, translation released 17th April, 2015

[1] President Ikeda established the high school division in June 1964, the junior high school division in January 1965, and the boys and girls division in September 1965—which together comprise the Future Division.
