[SGI-ToMyFriends-Wagatomo] Words of the Week April 13-19, 2015 Daily Gosho April 13, Daily Enc. April 14

A translation of President Ikeda's "Words of the Week"
published in the Seikyo Shinbun and more

April 13th - 19th, 2015
-- WORDS OF THE WEEK --
I'd like to express my deepest appreciation and respect
to all of my fellow members for your hard work
and selfless dedication for the sake of kosen-rufu.
All the unseen virtue of your great efforts
to help so many people to form a connection to Buddhism
will certainly shine as boundless visible reward.
We, the SGI, are a light of hope for our communities
and the entire country of Japan (and the world).
Now, proudly,
let's aim towards achieving consecutive victories!

* The Komeito Party, founded by the Soka Gakkai and now separate from the Soka Gakkai has been involved in some major election victories this last weekend and there is another round of local elections in two weeks time. The results are a very clear sign that the Japanese voters are pleased with what the Komeito has been trying to achieve!

--- DAILY GOSHO ---
"A sword is useless in the hands of a coward. The mighty sword of the Lotus Sutra must be wielded by one courageous in faith. Then one will be as strong as a demon armed with an iron staff."

(Reply to Kyō'ō - The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, Vol.1, page 412)

---- DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT ----
"Let's boldly take the initiative in sending a spring breeze of hope and encouragement to our friends everywhere. Let's lead the way in spreading dialogue that will usher in a springtime of happiness, victory, peace, and prosperity in our communities, the true stage of our mission.

"Cold winds
eventually give way to
fragrant spring breezes—
triumph over life's winters
as a proud part of your Buddhist practice."
